For the first time since the 2013 Stanley Cup Final, the Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks squared off.
The rematch lived up to the hype as the two Original Six teams picked up where they left off and fittingly couldn’t decide the game in sixty minutes. After a scoreless overtime, Patrick Kane‘s shootout goal lifted the Hawks past the Bruins, 3-2, but the B’s came away with the one point feeling pretty good about their play.
Brad Marchand continued his hot streak and scored twice for the B’s. Marchand now has four goals and one assist in his last three games. Meanwhile, Tuukka Rask made 35 saves on the day and with the exception of Brandon Bollig‘s second-period goal, the netminder was tough between the pipes.
