Wes Welker, Pete Carroll Aren’t Only Former Patriots To Make Super Bowl (Photos)

Wes WelkerNew England Patriots fans have it tough in Super Bowl XVIII.

Do Patriots fans cheer for Pete Carroll, the Seattle Seahawks coach who led New England to a 27-21 record from 1997 to 1999, and whose departure sprung a run of three Super Bowl titles? Or Wes Welker, the wide receiver who left for the Denver Broncos, and most recently, injured the Patriots’ star cornerback in the AFC Championship Game?

Of course, if the Seahawks are the pick, New Englanders have to root for Mr. “U MAD” himself, cornerback Richard Sherman. And if Patriots fans cheer for the Broncos, they’re rooting for a second Super Bowl win out of Peyton Manning.

Maybe Patriots fans should just cheer for a blizzard so the Super Bowl is canceled altogether. That might be the easier choice.

Welker and Carroll aren’t the only former Patriots in this year’s Super Bowl. We went through both rosters and pulled out the players with New England ties.
