Patriots safety Steve Gregory is on his way out of New England.
The team plans to cut Gregory on Friday, a league source told ESPN’s Field Yates. The report was confirmed by Gregory’s agent, David Canter.

Gregory, who spent the last two seasons in New England, was signed through the end of the 2014 season. His release saves the Patriots roughly $3 million in cap space.
Gregory played in 14 games this past season, ranking fourth on the team with 79 tackles. His role diminished, however, as the season went on and rookie safety Duron Harmon proved himself a capable starter.
