The network announced Monday that former Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott will join the cast of “The NFL Today” after spending last season as an analyst on CBS Sports Network’s “The Other Pregame Show.”

“Bart joining ‘The NFL Today’ is a natural progression from his outstanding work during his first season on TOPS,” CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus said in a statement. “Bart brings a dynamic personality and unique perspective as a recently retired player providing strong opinions on all the hot-button issues on a weekly basis. We are confident he will continue to bring that perspective and those opinions to ‘The NFL Today.'”

Scott and Gonzalez will join James Brown, Boomer Esiason and Bill Cowher on the Sunday morning pregame show. Former show staples Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe will not be returning this fall.

Scott played 11 seasons in the NFL, totaling 732 tackles, 25 sacks and one legendary postgame interview.
