College Hoops Court-Storming Leads To Fight Between Fans, Players (Video)

For those of you who think college sports should outlaw rushing the court/field, here’s all the ammunition you need.

A court-storming after Utah Valley’s upset overtime win over New Mexico State on Thursday resulted in a wild brawl involving fans, coaches and players from both sides.

It all got started when frustrated New Mexico State guard K.C. Ross-Miller fired a basketball at Utah Valley’s Holton Hunsaker as the final buzzer sounded.

Under normal circumstances, coaches would have been able to separate Ross-Miller and Hunsaker before the conflict escalated. The Utah Valley student section had already begun to pour onto the hardwood, though, and what was a disagreement between two opponents quickly morphed into a mob of bodies, with both angry players and overzealous fans needing to be forcibly restrained.

Eventually, the sides were separated, and Utah Valley left its home court with sole possession of first place in the Western Athletic Conference.
