David Beckham won 17 major trophies during his illustrious soccer career, but that success means little in the world of late-night comedy.

Beckham appeared on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last Friday and played a game of “Egg Roulette” against host Fallon.

In the classic game, a carton of 12 eggs contains eight hard-boiled ones and four raw ones. Both contestants select their eggs and smash them against their heads. The first player to choose two raw eggs loses.

Beckham faced Fallon in Egg Roulette. Beckham lost, albeit with his usual grace and dignity.

There’s not much more to it than that.
