Jared Sullinger has posted five straight double-doubles, helping the Boston Celtics go 3-2 in that span. For his body of work in three of those games, Sullinger was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Sullinger’s weekly average of 20.3 points per game was 13th in the conference, and his average of 12.7 rebounds was second in the conference, in games against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks.
Sullinger posted a point-rebound double-double against all three opponents, including a 31-point, 16-rebound effort on Feb. 7, when the C’s dropped the Kings 99-89 in front of the home crowd at TD Garden.
Sullinger, who is in the midst of a breakout second season in the NBA, was recently named to the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge. The game will take place during NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans.
