Jonny Gomes and Mike Napoli arrived in Boston last season and immediately made a positive impact in the clubhouse and on the field.
The Red Sox benefited greatly from the two players’ versatility and ability to provide clutch at-bats during the regular season and postseason. Napoli was re-signed to a two-year deal this offseason, one that should help the team’s offense rank among the league leaders in runs scored again (Boston led the majors in 2013).
As the Red Sox prepare for their World Series title defense, the two veterans know the team needs to find new ways to win and keep improving to have another successful season.
