The Boston Red Sox’s 2013 season featured plenty of drama, and Jonny Gomes was at the heart of it all.

Gomes came through in the clutch on numerous occasions last season, including in the World Series, when his three-run homer in Game 4 changed the complexion of the Fall Classic. One of the slugger’s favorite games, however, came in the middle of the season and featured walk-off heroics from Mike Napoli.

The Red Sox took down the New York Yankees, 8-7, in 11 innings on July 21. Gomes homered in the game, but it was Napoli who drilled a walk-off blast to send the Fenway Faithful home happy. Napoli, who homered twice in the contest, struck out three times before his big fly ended the 4-hour, 46-minute marathon.

Check out the video below to hear Gomes recall the Red Sox’s dramatic July 21 win over the Yankees.
