FORT MYERS, Fla. — Koji Uehara brought his usual energy to the mound during Monday’s Boston Red Sox spring training workout at JetBlue Park.
Uehara faced Dustin Pedroia and Mike Napoli during a live batting practice session on one of Fenway South’s six fields. Most fans at Monday’s workout made their way over to the diamond to soak up the action, and it turned out to be perhaps the liveliest live BP session of camp thus far.
Pedroia and Napoli hit a few frozen ropes against Uehara, which drew “oohs” and “aahs” from the buzzing crowd. Uehara also had success, though, as catcher David Ross shouted his approval to the reliever several times throughout the session.
