Russell Wilson’s agent said after the Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl win that Wilson still plans on attending spring training with the Texas Rangers.

It’ll likely be little more than a workout for Wilson, whom Texas selected in December’s Rule 5 draft, but one of the Rangers’ minor league clubs is making a push to get the former second baseman on the field in an actual game.

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Texas’ High-A affiliate, posted a YouTube video last week promising to donate $10,000 to a charity of Wilson’s choice if he plays one home game with the team.

Wilson was a promising baseball product before choosing to focus on football, appearing in 93 games across two levels of the Colorado Rockies’ system in 2010 and 2011. With a few months off before OTAs start up, it might not be a terrible idea for Wilson to spend one day in Myrtle Beach. It worked out pretty well for Kenny Powers.

Check out the team’s plea to Wilson in the video below, with a hat tip to FOXSports.com.
