‘Moneyball’ Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman Found Dead In New York Apartment

Philip Seymour Hoffman, the actor who portrayed Oakland Athletics manager Art Howe in the Academy Award-nominated movie Moneyball, was found dead Sunday in New York, according to The Wall Street Journal.

A representative from the New York Police Department said Hoffman was found dead of an apparent drug overdose, according to the New York Post.

Hoffman starred alongside Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill in the film adaption of Moneyball in 2011. The film was nominated for Best Picture at the 84th Academy Awards.
