Russia eliminated Norway from medal contention Tuesday in the Olympic hockey tournament in Sochi, and the Norwegians lost with their best player watching from the sidelines.

Mats Zuccarello injured his left hand before the qualifying game, and the forward’s NHL team — the New York Rangers — announced Wednesday that Zuccarello has a non-displaced fracture and will return to New York on Thursday to be evaluated.
