1:18 p.m.: Johnny Manziel is viewed as the No. 4 quarterback in the draft by some teams, according to Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.com. That just shows that there’s little consensus in the draft.
Pauline also reports that the Bengals might need to cut defensive end Carlos Dunlap to afford other key free agents. Cutting Dunlap would free up $2.2 million in cap room.
Pauline mentions that an FBI profiler was brought in to review Aaron Hernandez’s interviews from the 2010 combine. The profiler said there was a number of red flags including his body language and how he answered questions. Teams may use FBI profilers to review interviews moving forward.
1:12 p.m.: The Patriots could bring another Vereen to Foxboro.
Shane Vereen’s brother, Minnesota defensive back Brock Vereen, said he met with the Patriots on Saturday.

11:20 a.m.: Draft analysts aren’t big fans of AJ McCarron, but the coaches on the field seem to like him. He’s been praised a few times by the coaches helping at the combine.
11:03 a.m.: Mike Mayock said on NFL Network that Brandin Cooks is making a case to be a first-rounder due to his impressive showing at the combine. He’s only 5-foot-10, 196 pounds, but he was insanely productive at Oregon State. He had 128 catches for 1,730 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2013. He also had 32 rushes for 217 yards and two touchdowns.
Those are some Tavon Austin-type numbers.
10:41 a.m.: South Carolina’s Bruce Ellington and Texas A&M’s Mike Evans have impressed in the gauntlet drill so far. LSU’s Odell Beckham and Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks will likely get some more attention after the combine, as well. Beckham will likely be a first-round pick.
10:31 a.m.: The vertical jump numbers are finally out from Saturday. Oregon’s Colt Lyerla (39 inches), Fresno State’s Marcel Jensen (35 inches), Tennessee State’s A.C. Leonard (34 inches), Colorado State’s Crockett Gillmore (33.5 inches), Utah’s Jake Murphy (33 inches) and Texas Tech’s Jace Amaro (33 inches) finished in the top five for tight ends.
Boston College’s Matt Patchan (33.5 inches), Nevada’s Joel Bitonio (32), Texas A&M’s Jake Matthews (30.5), Michigan’s Taylor Lewan (30.5) and Clemson’s Brandon Thomas (29) finished in the top five for offensive linemen.
10:17 a.m.: Teddy Bridgewater is a tier below Johnny Manziel and Blake Bortles, according to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
McGinn talked to five teams’ personnel executives, and they put Manziel, Bortles, pass rushers Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack and Anthony Barr, offensive tackles Greg Robinson and Jake Matthews and wide receiver Sammy Watkins in the top eight.
Bridgewater was placed in the tier of 10 players below those top guys.
Based on McGinn’s column, the cornerbacks are also being overrated by the media. The top corners were placed in the third tier of 32 players. Notre Dame defensive tackle Stephon Tuitt and Florida State wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin are being underrated by the media right now. Both of those players were placed in the second tier.

Johnny Manziel is expected to test his speed and agility, but the Texas A&M quarterback has decided not to throw in Indianapolis. Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and Fresno State signal-caller Derek Carr also will not throw as the wide receivers and running backs are also set to flash their skills at the combine.
Central Florida quarterback Blake Bortles and Alabama’s AJ McCarron are the top-rated quarterbacks who have agreed to throw. Manziel will likely be the most athletic quarterback of the bunch to run the 40-yard dash, three-cone drill and short shuttle.
Among wideouts, Clemson’s Sammy Watkins, Texas A&M’s Mike Evans, Florida State’s Kelvin Benjamin, USC’s Marqise Lee and LSU’s Odell Beckham all could be first-round picks. All eyes will be on Evans and Benjamin to see if they have the elite speed to match their freakish size.
Evans is 6-foot-5, 231 pounds and Benjamin is 6-foot-5, 240 pounds. If they can even run in the 4.5-second range in the 40-yard dash, it will be impressive given their tight end-esque size.
There are no running backs expected to be taken in the first round this year. Washington’s Bishop Sankey could be the fastest among top-tier backs.
