Raymond FeltonThe New York Knicks dropped Monday night’s game to the Dallas Mavericks, and hours later, Knicks point guard Raymond Felton was arrested on felony gun charges, a New York Police Department spokesman told local media.

Felton was questioned and turned himself in at the 20th Precinct Station House in New York, according to the reports. He was arrested on three gun charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman.

Felton’s wife, Ariane Raymondo-Felton, who recently filed for divorce after 19 months of marriage, was questioned at the police station early Tuesday morning. She turned Felton’s gun in to the authorities, and Felton later arrived at the station with his attorneys, according to ABC News.

The woman involved in the incident was Felton’s girlfriend, according to the New York Post.

Felton, 29, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second, third and fourth degrees. The second-degree felony charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years if convicted, and the third-degree charge carries a maximum sentence of seven years if convicted.

The nine-year NBA veteran is averaging 10.4 points and 6.0 assists and shooting 40.3 percent from the field for the struggling Knicks this season. He is in the second season of a three-year, $10 million contract.
