Richie Incognito On Smashing His Ferrari: ‘Just Me Venting’

richie incognitoRichie Incognito told police Thursday that he was the one who smashed up his $300,000 black Ferrari with a baseball bat.

It wasn’t a fit of rage that prompted Incognito to give the car the Babe Ruth treatment, though. He was just blowing off some steam, the former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman said Thursday.

“Oh, that was just me venting,” Incognito told FOX Phoenix in an interview outside his Scottsdale, Ariz., home. “That was self-expression. That’s a piece of art. The happiest day of my life was when I got that car, and now the second happiest day will be when I donate it to charity.”

The Ferrari — dinged up and sitting on Incognito’s lawn in photos posted by TMZ — had been covered and moved to the garage by the time FOX’s news crew arrived, and Incognito, who becomes eligible to sign with an NFL team in less than two weeks, didn’t seem too concerned with the tornado of controversy that continues to swirl around him.

“Just hanging out and moving on,” he said. “I’m relaxing and just enjoying this nice weather, going to take my dad and brothers to baseball games.”
