Here’s some simple math we learned on Saturday: One loose rooster, plus one wet soccer field, plus several security staff equals high comedy.

A feathered field invader interrupted a Ligat ha’Al (Israeli first division) game between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Bnei Yehuda. It only decided to leave the field after a number of security personnel at Hapoel’s Bloomfield Stadium tried in vain to apprehend it.

Fans of visiting Bnei Yehuda smuggled the rooster inside and let it free in the 18th minute of the game. How do we know it was Bnei Yehuda fans you ask? We know because the rooster had orange ribbons (one of Bnei Yehuda’s colors) tied around its ankles.

The rooster managed to evade security for around three minutes because the field was wet. Security wasn’t wearing studded cleats and its claws allowed it to display amazing agility.

Fans inside the stadium had a good laugh, as did those watching on television. The Internet has allowed millions more around the world to experience the hilarity of the Bnei Yehuda rooster.

Watch the Bnei Yehuda rooster befuddle security guards in the video below.
