Koufax was standing near the bullpen when the foul ball struck him, and although he suffered a cut and was bleeding, he remained on his feet, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports. The three-time National League Cy Young Award winner was seen smiling as trainers helped him inside for further examination.

The 78-year-old is a special assistant to Dodgers owner Mark Walter. Koufax has informally worked with pitchers at Dodgers spring training for the past two seasons.
