Shaun White’s disappointing run in Sochi has prompted the Olympic snowboarder to pursue other interests.

After failing to medal in the men’s halfpipe snowboarding final on Tuesday, Shaun White announced he will be taking a break from the sport to tour with his band, Bad Things.

The Flying Tomato’s bid to secure his third straight Olympic gold medal in the event fell short as he finished in fourth place. The 27-year-old superstar struggled mightily on the slopes, falling twice in his two runs in the finals. Now, after his surprising finish, he’ll turn his attention to music.

“I don’t really think [Tuesday night] makes or breaks my career,” White told reporters following his event. “I’ve been snowboarding for so long and I love it. It’s given me so much. I’m happy to take this for what it is and move on, continue to ride and put my best foot forward. I would always like to be remembered as more than a snowboarder. I have so much going on in my life and this is one big part of who I am. But it’s not all that I am.”
