Boston Bruins forward Shawn Thornton celebrated the one-year anniversary of his Shawn Thornton Foundation, which benefits people affected by cancer and Parkinson’s disease, on Tuesday.
It didn’t take long for the party chatter to turn to hockey, though, when “NESN Sports Today” host Jamison Coyle caught up with Thornton. After spending a few days unwinding in the Dominican Republic, Thornton said there’s no way the Olympic break is too short, but he is looking forward to getting back on the ice Thursday.
The B’s enforcer also said he hasn’t been keeping up with the Olympic hockey tournament, but the Canadian did make it very clear he cheers for the U.S. in everything but hockey.
