T.J. Oshie’s Wikipedia Page Lists Him As ‘American Hero’ Following Shootout Heroics

St. Louis Blues forward T.J. Oshie became one of the best-known American hockey players on Saturday. He also apparently became an American hero in the process.

Oshie played a huge part in Team USA’s shootout win over Team Russia on Saturday in Sochi. Olympic shootout rules state that after the first three rounds, teams can reuse shooters they used in those first three rounds.

American coach Dan Bylsma decided to go back to Oshie for the fourth round, and no other American shooter touched the puck. Oshie eventually gave the Americans the win with a goal in the eighth round to propel the U.S. to a win.

In the minutes that followed, some presumably American hockey fan update Oshie’s page on Wikipedia to list the Blues forward as an “American hero.”
