Report: U.S. Olympic Speedskaters Get IOC Approval To Switch Under Armour Suits

The U.S. Olympic speedskating team better hope it’s right.

The team has been given permission by the International Olympic Committee to switch its athletes’ suits amid worries that the new, specifically designed Under Armour threads being used at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi have been keeping its skaters from the medal stand.

Darren Rovell of ESPN reports that the IOC has approved the United States’ request to switch back to its old suits, which it wore at World Cup competition.

The U.S. has admitted many factors could be involved in its skaters doing so poorly so far at the Olympic Games, but after such a public reversal, the pressure will really be on at the ice oval.
