The Boston Bruins strengthened their depth on the blue line at the NHL trade deadline by acquiring defensemen Andrej Meszaros from the Philadelphia Flyers and Corey Potter off waivers.
The Bruins’ depth has been tested this season, with many defensemen battling injuries and the team forced to call up several young players from the Providence Bruins.
The acquisitions of Meszaros and Potter give head coach Claude Julien more NHL experience as veteran players capable of moving the puck and fitting in with the Bruins’ physical style of hockey.
