TJ MoeT.J. Moe’s career with the New England Patriots is over before it ever really started.

The Patriots released Moe, according to his agent. The wide receiver was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri last May. He tore his Achilles during OTAs and was placed on injured reserve in June.

Hopes were high that Moe could be the next great undrafted slot receiver after impressing in offseason workouts. He lit up last year’s combine with a 6.53-second three-cone drill and 3.96-second short shuttle.

Releasing Moe saves the Patriots less than $420,000.
