This can’t be a good sign for things to come for the Los Angeles Angels.

Angels hitting coach Don Baylor appeared to seriously injure either his right knee or right ankle while catching the ceremonial first pitch from Vladimir Guerrero, who signed a one-day contract with the team earlier in the day to officially end his career with the Angels.

Guerrero tried to help Baylor get to his feet, but it became very apparent that the 64-year-old was in serious pain.

Baylor, who was working his first game with the Angels, was helped off the field and taken to a local hospital to have his right leg examined.

Later in the ESPN broadcast, the announcers said Baylor broke his right femur and will have surgery Tuesday.
