Aqib TalibAqib Talib had a chance to return to the New England Patriots, but the Denver Broncos’ contract offer was too good to pass up.

Talib spent a season and a half with the Patriots, and despite a parting shot at the team about how it reports injuries, the cornerback said he loved playing for New England.

“I definitely had an offer from the Patriots. But there was language in there that definitely was a little shaky compared to Denver’s offer,” Talib told themmqb.com. “The Patriots are a great organization. I loved my time there. I loved playing for Bill (Belichick). He’s a great leader. I’ll be able to tell my kids I played for Bill Belichick someday, and I was Tom Brady’s teammate. Really, it’s just a dream I’m experiencing, when two great organizations want you like this.”

Talib received a six-year, $54 million contract from the Broncos this offseason after playing on a one-year, $5 million deal in 2013. The Patriots replaced Talib by signing cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner in free agency.
