The New York Yankees discovered a way to make routine pop-ups a little more interesting during their spring training tilt against the Washington Nationals Tuesday afternoon.
During the fourth inning, Yankees third baseman Dean Anna charged toward home plate to pursue a harmless pop-up when he tripped over the mask of catcher Brian McCann, who was also calling for the catch. The end result was something out of a comedy sketch as Anna’s stumble caused McCann to trip backward over his teammate and land with his legs high in the air.
Neither player was injured on the play and McCann made the grab, so don’t feel guilty about laughing at the GIF below, courtesy of Eye On Baseball.
