The Swedish Hockey League doesn’t usually feature massive body checks but a hit in the MODO-Linkoping playoff play-in game this week was a sight to be seen.

Canada native Richie Regehr (brother of Los Angeles Kings defenseman Robyn) went in high and hard as he laid out Sebastian Karlsson of Linkoping in the third period, leaving the Swede bloody, dazed and obviously in pain. Linkoping reportedly suffered a concussion on the play but was feeling good enough to give a thumbs up in a photo posted on Twitter.

Regehr played 20 career games for the Calgary Flames from 2005-07.

Check out his hit below, thanks to Puck Daddy.
