Daniel Paille, Tyson BarrieWILMINGTON, Mass. — Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille is feeling good, but he hasn’t been medically cleared just yet after recently suffering a minor concussion.

Paille suffered the concussion during his first shift Sunday afternoon against the Florida Panthers, when he took a big hit from defenseman Ed Jovanvovski and hit his head on the ice as he fell. Paille skated again Friday at practice and is hopeful he’ll be good to go Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes.

“I feel pretty good,” Paille said. “This whole week, I just felt normal and felt the same. I didn’t necessarily feel the symptoms really, but it was more of the way it looked, (taking precaution) and you’d rather be safe than sorry. Just kind of followed precaution and made sure I was 100 percent, and there was nothing.”

This is Paille’s second concussion of the season, although he said Friday that he didn’t feel terribly shaken up after the hit from Jovanovski. However, Paille still knew something wasn’t quite right.

“Obviously I knew I couldn’t play, but I felt good enough to play,” he said. “Obviously talking to the doctors when I was in Florida, it was just the right call to make it precautionary. There’s still about a month left in the season and then the playoffs (so) there’s really no reason to push it.”

Paille also said he hasn’t had any setbacks this week. The Bruins did recall Matt Lindblad from Providence on Friday, and he could play Saturday, according to Bruins head coach Claude Julien. However, Julien also said Lindblad’s recall had nothing to do with any injuries.

Paille has been a big part of the Bruins fourth line’s recent resurgence. He had one goal and two assists in the five games before he suffered the concussion.
