It’s a bad time to send cryptic text messages if you’re the wife of an NFL free agent.
Jessie James Decker, the wife of Eric Decker, learned that the hard way Wednesday night. While the Jets were hosting the free-agent receiver and he was enjoying a nice dinner with Rex Ryan and Co., his wife sent out a tweet that got Gang Green’s fans hopes way up.

After missing out on Darrelle Revis, who reportedly agreed to terms with the Patriots, New Yorkers were regaining hope, believing that Jessie was referring to her husband striking a deal with the Jets. But, of course, that wasn’t what she was talking about.

Or maybe it was, after all. Jessie might have pulled a fast one on her Twitter followers — or leaked something too soon and quickly covered it up — as the Jets website later announced the team agreed to a deal with her husband.
