Harvard was the first team to punch its ticket to the 2014 NCAA tournament — its third straight trip to the Big Dance — and on Sunday, the Crimson learned they’ll be the No. 12 seed in the East region and will play fifth-seeded Cincinnati.
Harvard has emerged as a team to be taken seriously in the tournament after earning the program’s first postseason victory when it upset third-seeded New Mexico in the second round in 2013. Ivy League Player of the Year Wesley Saunders says that experience will help his team immensely this time around.
