A Wisconsin high schooler was left seeing stars after being on the receiving end of a crushing open-ice hit during last week’s state playoffs.
The collision happened during a semifinal matchup between West Salem and Lincoln, with a West Salem skater getting knocked flat on his back by a brutal — but legal — check as soon as he crossed into the Lincoln zone.
The West Salem bench argued for a penalty, but, as the fired-up TV commentator exclaimed, “That’s how you play the game.”
