Hisato Sato has scored more than 140 goals during his 14-year career in Japan’s J-League. Few, if any can be as good as the one he scored on Saturday.

Sato, a 31-year-old star striker for Sanfrecce Hiroshima, scored one of world soccer’s best goals this weekend in his team’s 2-1 victory over against Kawasaki Frontale.

With his team down 1-0 in the 57th minute, Sato flicked the ball up to himself and shot straight into the corner of the goal — despite the fact that he was facing his own goal when he started the move.

It was Sato’s first goal of the nascent J-League season. Good luck trying to score a better one in the coming months.
