Torey Krug , Jarome Iginla, Milan LucicThe Boston Bruins are the hottest team in the NHL right now, and Jarome Iginla has been a big reason for that. He was recognized by the league for his efforts Monday.

Iginla was named one of the NHL’s three stars of the week for this past week. Red Wings forward Gustav Nyquist was the first star and Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist the second.

Iginla has been on a torrid goal-scoring stretch of late. He potted five goals in four games over the past week and is now at 28 for the season. He also recently passed Bruins legend Johnny Bucyk on the NHL’s all-time scoring list. The 36-year-old, with 558 career goals, needs just two more to catch Guy Lafleur for the 24th spot.

Iginla’s impressive play dates back longer than just the past week. He has 11 goals in his last 12 games and 15-14-29 totals in his last 22, a stretch that has included 10 multiple-point games.

Iginla also was named the third star for the week of Feb. 3-9.
