Jimmy Graham must go back to the drawing board and come up with a new touchdown celebration.
NFL head of officiating Dean Blandino told “The Dan Patrick Show” on Tuesday that dunking the football over the goal post will be penalized next season. That means a brave new world for Graham, the New Orleans Saints tight end who has become synonymous with the touchdown celebration that former NFL star Tony Gonzalez made popular. Graham and Gonzalez showed off their hops as odes to their basketball playing days, and they were none too pleased to hear the NFL was banning the move.

The NFL says no more dunking over the goalpost. This one I don't understand. Looks like I got out just in time.—

Sure, the NFL never will have another awkward delay because of Graham bending the goal posts, but that doesn’t mean he was happy with the No Fun League’s decision.
Graham and Gonzalez mastered the celebration, but they were far from the only ones to attempt it. From a 340-pound linesman showing off his athleticism to Drew Brees trying his hardest to pull off the move, NFL players have had some fun — and some bad luck — with their goal-post dunks.
