Josh Hamilton knows a thing or two about being the least popular man in Texas, so when Ian Kinsler ripped his former team in a recent interview, he was quick to reach out to his ex-teammate.

Kinsler torched his former general manager in Texas, calling him “a sleazeball” and added that he hoped the Rangers would go winless on the season, but Hamilton was able to find a silver lining in all of the harsh comments.

“At least I won’t be the only villain in Texas now,” Hamilton said, via the Los Angeles Times.

During his five seasons with the Rangers, Hamilton’s career took off, but he erased any and all fans he gained in Texas when he said Dallas was more of a football town after signing with Los Angeles. When he returned to Texas for the first time as an Angel last season, Hamilton found out what it was like to be Public Enemy No. 1 with Rangers fans, and it’s safe to say Kinsler can start preparing for the same treatment when he returns to Globe Life Park with the Detroit Tigers.
