The Boston Bruins-Montreal Canadiens matchup got off to a chippy start on Monday night, to say the least, and Kevan Miller only added to the feistiness with some first-period fisticuffs.

Miller drilled Dale Weise into the corner boards with a hit that appeared to earn him a penalty, but before he could make his way to the box, Travis Moen challenged him to a fight — a decision he likely regrets. Miller’s strength was on full display during the bout as he knocked his counterpart down to the ice with only one punch. But the refs allowed them to get back up and the absolute beatdown resumed.

When all was said and done, Moen had to be helped off the ice by two teammates and he headed straight to the dressing room. After the game, Miller told the media he hopes both Moen and Weise are OK.
