Whether you refer to him as “the LeBron James of hockey” or “the next Sidney Crosby,” Connor McDavid will be on the minds, mouths and fingertips of NHL fans, general managers and media members over the next 16 months.
McDavid, 17, will likely be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NHL entry draft and he’s been spinning out highlight-reel goals over the last few years to prove that he’s worthy of the hype.
The 6-foot, 185-pound Erie Otter did it again this week, undressing a Plymouth Whalers defender with a ridiculous move at the blue line before going in on a breakaway where he tucked one through the netminder with ease.
