Mario Lemieux Scores First Career Goal During NESN’s First-Ever Bruins Broadcast (Video)

NESN is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2014, and on March 21, 1984, the network broadcast its first Boston Bruins game.

The B’s took on the Pittsburgh Penguins that night, and a rookie forward (and future Hall of Famer) named Mario Lemieux scored his first career goal on his first shot. Despite Lemieux’s stellar performance, Boston was able to earn the victory.
