Matt Shaughnessy re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday after reportedly visiting the New England Patriots earlier in the day.

The Patriots evidently brought the big edge defender to Foxboro for a free-agent visit, but the 6-foot-5, 285-pound pass rusher will stay put in Arizona, where he played last season after four years with the Oakland Raiders. Shaughnessy had 36 tackles and three sacks in 16 games at outside linebacker for the Cardinals last season.
