The NASCAR Nationwide series resumed Saturday night at the Auto Club Speedway in California, where Roush Fenway Racing driver Ryan Reed finished 17th in the American Diabetes Association Drive to Stop Diabetes.
“We ran all the laps and learned a lot,” Reed said after the 300-mile race.
“We were pretty fast at the end. We had a good long-run car. We put ourselves in position for the lucky dog and felt faster than a couple guys on the lead lap, but never got the caution at the end like we needed to. We took the wave around and got in position for the lucky dog and raced hard. Our Mustang just wasn’t in position there at the end. I think we will keep learning and know how to start these races.”
Reed increased his season points total to 117, which puts him 12th in the overall standings.
Kyle Larson, who started eighth and led 17 laps, took the checkered flag.
The next stop on the Nationwide Series schedule is Texas Motor Speedway for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300. That race will take place on Friday, April 4 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
