Patrice Bergeron is one of the best two-way forwards in hockey, but it has been his offensive production of late that has thrust the Boston Bruins center into the spotlight.
Bergeron was named the NHL’s second star of the week, the league announced Monday. The 28-year-old has scored in seven consecutive games, making him the first Bruin to do so since Cam Neely in 1990. Bergeron has posted 27 goals and 29 assists for 56 points this season and ranks second in the NHL with a plus-36 rating, behind teammate David Krejci (plus-37).
