Phil JacksonAll signs are pointing to New York for Phil Jackson.

An NBA source has indicated to ESPN that Phil Jackson will accept the front office position with the New York Knicks.

“The Knicks have a sense of what’s going to happen,” the source said, according to ESPN. “And as of right now, it looks like Phil’s taking the job. There’s always the possibility of something falling apart at the last minute, but the Knicks’ sense is that he’s joining them.”

Madison Square Garden executive chair and Knicks owner James Dolan has been under intense criticism this season due to the team’s less than stellar 24-40 record and rumors of conflict in the locker room.

Knicks personnel are likely hoping Jackson will bring his previous success to New York, as he won 11 NBA titles as a head coach.

Though he will “definitely” not coach the team, according to the report, the details of Jackson’s position with the Knicks are still in the works.

The Knicks have not scheduled a public announcement, but Jackson’s answer should become official within the next couple of days.
