Terrelle Pryor, Kevin ReddickPortland football fans are pushing Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber to bring the Oakland Raiders to the Pacific Northwest.

The Raiders are unhappy with their current stadium, the O.co Coliseum, and can move from Oakland after the 2014 season. Portland residents have started a Change.org petition in an attempt to convince their governor to acquire the Raiders. The petition has more than 2,000 signatures.

Portland, which is the No. 22 television market, according to Nielsen, has just one team among the four major sports — the NBA’s Portland Trailblazers.

Only three cities have larger media markets and no football team: Los Angeles, Orlando and Sacramento. The most logical destination for the Raiders would be Los Angeles, but without a functional stadium in place, a move would be difficult.

Portland also doesn’t have an NFL-sized stadium. The MLS Portland Timbers play in the 22,000-capacity Providence Park.
