Former Chicago Bears running back Michael Bush is scheduled to visit the New England Patriots, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday night, citing a source.

The Patriots still are looking to fill the backfield void left by LeGarrette Blount, who signed a two-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday. Although New England still boasts Shane Vereen and Stevan Ridley at running back, the veteran presence of Bush could bolster the Patriots’ attack.

Bush, a fourth-round draft pick of the Raiders in 2007, spent five seasons with Oakland before joining the Bears. The 29-year-old rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns on 63 carries last season for Chicago, which released him on March 10.
