Report: Patriots Sign Michael Hoomanawanui To Two-Year Deal

Michael Hoomanawanui , Philip WheelerThe New England Patriots made their second free agent signing of the offseason on Monday.

The Patriots re-signed tight end Michael Hoomanawanui to a two-year deal, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Hoomanawanui has spent two seasons with the Patriots, starting 16 games.

Hoomanawanui caught 12 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown in 2013 as he was forced to take on a bigger role with Rob Gronkowski injured.

The Patriots re-signed long snapper Danny Aiken on Friday. Wide receiver Julian Edelman, cornerback Aqib Talib and running back LeGarrette Blount are among the Patriots free agents set to hit the open market on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
