Phil Jackson doesn’t seem willing to become an NBA head coach again, but the 11-time champion is considering a front office position with the New York Knicks, per ESPN.

The Knicks have been a disaster this season with a 23-40 record and four and a half games out of a playoff spot just one year after finishing 54-28. Jackson, 68, has never been a President of Basketball Operations or general manager in his four-plus decades in basketball, but he is qualified for this type of position given his experience and eye for talent.
New York needs a strong basketball mind at the helm of the organization because its roster is a mess right now. It includes several veterans on bad contracts and the situation could get worse if superstar forward Carmelo Anthony decides to become a free agent in the summer and sign elsewhere.
Jackson spent nine seasons as the Chicago Bulls head coach from 1990-98 and led the team to six titles with superstars Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. He added five more championships as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers to his resume during two stints with the team from 2000-10.
Jackson also played for the Knicks from 1967-78, and was part of the franchise’s only NBA Finals-winning teams in 1970 and 1973.
