While most of the players who helped the New England Revolution make the playoffs in 2013 will be back in 2014, they’ll have a new look this time around.

The Revs unveiled their new home uniforms (or “kits”) Tuesday night in a glitzy event at Royale Night Club in Boston, Mass. The kit launch party was part of Major League Soccer’s “Jersey Week.”

Adidas and the Revolution collaborated on the new look. It includes a navy blue background, the logo for the team’s jersey sponsor, UnitedHealthcare, and three red stripes running down the shoulders.

“We’re very pleased with this design and are excited to begin wearing it,” Revolution president Brian Bilello said. “We worked with adidas to integrate some key design elements into the kit that are important to our club. For a long time, our primary kit has been solid navy, with only lesser red and white accents. We wanted this primary uniform to reinforce the region’s Revolutionary identity by having a greater balance of red, white and blue.

The new jersey pays homage to the region with the flag of New England on the back.

The Revs will wear white shorts with three red stripes on the sides and blue socks with white lines on them.
