Rich Peverley: ‘My Goal Would Be To Come Back’ To NHL

Dallas Stars forward Rich Peverley spoke to reporters at a press conference Friday for the first time since undergoing successful heart surgery.

He’s been cleared to resume working out, and his goal is to one day return to the NHL.

Peverley collapsed during a March 10 game against the Columbus Blue Jackets because of a cardiac event that began after a first-period shift. A few days later, he underwent a heart procedure at the Cleveland Clinic.

The 31-year-old forward will miss the rest of the season, and it’s unclear when/if he will return to the NHL.
