Members of the B’s were at dinner Monday night when they heard the news that Peverley, a former Bruin, collapsed in a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Peverley is doing better and should be OK, but it still gave his former teammates a scare.

Peverley was a major topic of discussion Tuesday afternoon following Bruins practice in Montreal. According to reporters in Montreal, many Bruins admitted to reaching out to Peverley via text. A group of them were at dinner together when they found out. Some scary moments followed until members of the Black and Gold started to find out more.

“I felt sick to my stomach,” Patrice Bergeron said, according to The Boston Globe.

Bruins center Patrice Bergeron even reached out to another former Bruins teammate, Tyler Seguin, to get the latest on Peverley. Shortly thereafter, Seguin called Shawn Thornton to update him on the situation.

“You never want to see that obviously, but he’s one of our good friends on this team,” Peverley said, according to the Globe. “He’s one of the great guys. We were pretty worried. The room went pretty quiet, but he texted me back today though and I think he seems to be doing OK. That’s a positive.”

Peverley was traded with Seguin to Dallas this past July. The 32-year-old play parts of three seasons with Boston after being traded to the Bruins during the 2010-11 season, a year in which Peverley helped the B’s win the Stanley Cup.
